Orthodontics: How To Have A Good Easter With Your Braces

Posted on March 21, 2018

Our orthodontist, Dr. Dipak Chudasama, wants you to have a successful and wonderful Easter holiday this year filled with family time, Easter egg hunts and yummy treats. Unfortunately, if you’re not careful, you and your braces can suffer the consequences. But, the good news is that there are things you can do to help your braces this Easter. Our orthodontist is happy to help you have a good Easter with your braces by encouraging you to do the following things:

– Avoid chewy and sticky candies: This is recommended because chewy and sticky candies can damage the braces. This is because they can pull the brackets off the teeth and even bend and break the wires. These candies can also promote cavities, so it’s best to avoid them altogether.

– Wear a mouthguard: If you’re going to participate in a potentially intense or dangerous Easter egg hunt (we all know they can get a little dicey, especially if there is money involved), then you should wear a mouthguard to prevent breaking your braces and your teeth.

– Clean your smile and appliance: Make sure to brush your teeth after each meal and snack and floss your teeth and rinse your mouth at least once. These things can help you remove the sugar and bacteria from your teeth, gums and appliance and help you avoid dental problems.

Call Orthodontic Avenue today at 972.899.5455 if you have any questions or if you would like to know more. Our orthodontic team will be more than happy to tell you all about braces in Grand Prairie, Texas. We look forward to hearing from and helping you!

It’s the perfect time to get that Smile.
