Dr. Lisa Stokes has lived in Texas since she was 5 years old. She graduated from West Brook High School in 1988 and then went on to attend the University of Houston and Lamar University (Beaumont, TX) where she majored in Biology.
Dr. Stokes obtained an early acceptance to dental school and earned her DDS at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston where she graduated 4th in her class with a 3.91 GPA.
She was elected to OKU (National Dental School Honor Society) while in dental school and received the “Most Outstanding Senior Dental Student” award. Dr. Stokes earned her Certificate in Orthodontics at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston where she graduated first in her orthodontic residency. She also received a master’s degree concurrently while she was in her orthodontic residency.
Dr. Stokes moved to Sherman, TX in 1998 and has been working as an orthodontist in private practice ever since. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jerry since 1996 and has three children. She loves doing anything that involves being with her kids, husband, and their family dogs, enjoys going to dinner & concerts with friends, visiting family, traveling and has a passion for supporting her community.
